As Creative/Artistic Director, Richard has provided full choreography and production concepts for television shows such
as Lip Sync Battle UK, X-Factor, So You Think You Can Dance, Let's Dance for Comic Relief , Children In Need and many
primetime television entertainment shows.
Being the UKs top Salsa choreographer, Richard was chosen to choreograph the hit movie Cuban Fury, where he spent
many months intensively training the movie's feature cast Nick Frost, Chris O'Dowd and Academy Award winning
Olivia Coleman.
Further film credits include Kick-Ass2, The Wedding Video and The Royals.
His theatre credits include choreography for Godspell in the West End, Burn The Floor international tour and Riverdance:
Heartbeat Of Home China tour. Richard was also Director/Choreographer for the spectacular and prestigious stage show
Conga in Monaco.
As a performer/choreographer Richard worked with superstars such as Madonna, George Michael, Kylie, Diana Ross,
Tom Jones and the legendary Liza Minelli.
Award winning choreographer Richard Marcel is one of the UK's most unique
innovators of dance and movement for TV, film, commercials and theatre.
His ability to create the perfect piece of movement, whilst constantly pushing
creative boundaries, has led him to work on some of the mostprestigious
performances for stage and screen both in the UK, Europe and the US.
His expert knowledge of a diverse range of dance styles, coupled with his
extraordinary music and production skills, are consistently recognised within
the industry. Above all, it's Richard's absolute love, passion and
uncompromising dedication to his art which has led to him winning the
ISTD Dance Sport Award for services to dance and the Choreographers
Carnival Award for Best Choreographer.
Richard has been engaged in multiple advertising campaigns
for brands such as Virgin, Burberry, Lexus, EasyJet, MoneySupermarket,
Old Navy and many more.
He was choreographer and stage director for the Royal Variety Performance and resident choreographer for Strictly
Come Dancing for 10 years.
